Deo Apollo Musisi (PhD)

I am a Ugandan born-American and European based Space and GeoInformation Scientist..A rare combination. I hold a Ph.D. in Space Science Applications from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Earth Observation and Geo-Information Sciences from the University of Twente ITC in the Netherlands. I am the Project and Technical Director at DataGrid Africa Centre whose headquarters are at 1022 NW 2nd Street Gainesville Florida USA. I am determined to promote the use of GeoInformation and satellite technologies for positioning and ensuring that Africa and the developing world manage their vast natural resources. If they can, we can. Beyond my scientific pursuits, I want to see an Africa which manages her resources in the entire value chain.

Besides being a scientist, I am passionate about mentorship and life coaching, particularly in marriage and personal development. Through the BigDaddy foundation, I want to be useful to the rural communities of Uganda offering affordable education, health, mentorship to Africa’s youth.
